i always wondered why there are so many divorces, separations, and break-ups in the world... how a couple can be so in love one second and out of love the next... is it the endless options in this modern lifestyle that drives us to search for something different every few moment? is it the common mentality of human beings that makes us long for something better once something good has already come along? what is it that causes us decide to go on our separate ways?

and then i realized... maybe the act of separation is not always a choice... maybe it is an inevitable incident that just happens as a result of something that is beyond anybody's control... beyond anybody's desire... beyond any freedom that we've always known... where the decision to part ways is the only sole option there is... or... maybe... it's as simple as fate... or, perhaps, the lack of it...

i wonder...
is happiness simply the mere absence of sadness? or is it something more... something special... something independent from other feelings and emotions?
i also wonder...
what constitutes the meaning of happiness? is there a certain universal peak at which happiness is obtained? or does that peak vary by each person and their individual standards?

maybe happiness isn't even real and it's only a wild delusion that people have implanted in their heads... well... it's too bad it's not in my head =(
